Robin Hoods Bay is situated about 5 miles below Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast. Gilroyd House Holiday Cottage is on 'New Road' this is the main road that descends through the village. The cottage is just a few yards from the slipway.
From York: 50 Miles.
Take the A64 heading toward Scarborough and exit at the A169 sign posted for 'Eden Camp', Pickering and Whitby. Follow A169 through Pickering and straight over at the roundabout - staying on the A169 heading for Whitby. Pass through Sleights towards Whitby. Eventually the A169 joins the A171 at a Roundabout where you turn right towards Whitby. Follow this road until you arrive at a set of traffic lights. Turn right following sings for Scarborough, stay on the Scarborough road. After about 4 miles watch for sign on left for Robin Hoods Bay, follow to Robin Hoods Bay.
On arrival in Robin Hoods Bay you come to a roundabout with one exit down the steep hill to the cottage and one exit to a car park on the right. You can drive down the hill, (stay in a low gear - the hill is steep and bends sharply) when you go over a small bridge, you will see a fossil and book shop on your right. The cottage is accessed via the steps and is situated directly over the fossil shop.
From Stockton on Tees. 42 Miles.
Through Middlesborough toward Guisborough, then follow A171 toward Whitby. Pass through roundabout that joins with A169 Pickering Road and head towards Whitby.
Follow this road until you arrive at a set of traffic lights. Turn right following sings for Scarborough, stay on the Scarborough road. After about 4 miles watch for sign on left for Robin Hoods Bay, follow to Robin Hoods Bay.

From Hull at North Sea Ferry Terminal. 60 Miles
King George Dock
Follow exit signs from ferry terminal to roundabout, then follow signs for York. Keep following signs for York until you see signs for Beverley - follow signs for Beverley. At Beverley follow signs for Driffield, pick up signs for Scarborough. At Scarborough follow signs for Whitby. Approx 12 miles from Scarborough watch for signpost to Ravenscar on right, do not take this road, carry on towards Whitby, but now you watch for a signpost on right for Robin Hoods Bay.
